Hi! My name is Thomas West. I am a mechanical engineer and machinist based in the PNW. Building and driving cars have taken over my life, and as it does dominate so much of my thoughts, time, energy, and finances, I figured I should have a place to recap and reflect on it. My other really prominent passion is music, to which you’ll find many references here including the name of the site.

You won’t find the greatest writing, photos, or methods here. My goal is to assemble all of the best practices and techniques I’ve discovered into one collection of cars, and hopefully save some other people some time by documenting it here. I’ve been fortunate (and unfortunate) enough to experience a lot of the automotive space in a very short period of time, which has made me jaded in many regards, but also able to save people some of the hurdles that I had to overcome, either by research or error.

I wouldn’t consider myself a naturally creative person, but I hope through fumbling through this process of documentation that some knowledge can be transferred, and I can connect with other like minded people that share the same passion for everything automotive that I do. There’s a saying that goes something along the lines of “Make the content that you like to consume.”
